Qantas reveals plans for non-stop flights from Sydney to London

The Australian flag carrier has ordered 12 Airbus A350-1000 jets, capable of flying to major UK and US cities without stopping.

One made a test flight over Sydney Harbour yesterday to mark the announcement.

Qantas first launched the London-to-Sydney route, which took 58 hours and seven stops, in 1947. It currently involves one stop and takes nearly 24 hours.
