I’m a Celeb theme park to open in UK this year with zipwires & parachute trials

Listen up, I’m a Celeb fans.

Viewers will soon be able to go to a theme park that’s dedicated to the popular ITV show.

If lockdown restrictions keep easing as planned, an I’m a Celebrity attraction is set to open in Salford, Greater Manchester, this year.

Previously, we revealed how the site will be a “multi-sensory adrenaline adventure” for guests.

Visitors to the I’m A Celebrity… Jungle Challenge will be put through their paces with a 90-minute series of tasks.

Thrill-seekers will battle it out to be crowned king or queen of the jungle – so expect replicas of Base Camp, Croc Creek and Snake Rock plus zipwires, mazes, climbing walls and parachute-style drops.

I’m a Celeb fans who hate critters are in luck too.

Live animals won’t be used at the attraction, with ITV commenting that “virtual” versions will be used instead.

William van Rest, ITV’s director of games, live and merchandising, said: “We’re trying to create a jungle as closely as we can.

“Some of the games within I’m A Celebrity are things like treetop challenges, and one of the team who helps create the games for I’m A Celebrity is helping us with this.”

I’m A Celebrity… Jungle Challenge will be situated beside the Lowry Outlet Mall in Salford.

Due to the pandemic, an official opening date is yet to be confirmed.

But thankfully, we may not have to wait long to experience the immersive experience.

The website states there are plans to open in the summertime.

A statement adds: "The Jungle Challenge team are working hard to get the attraction ready for a 2021 opening.

"However, as you can imagine we too are having to accommodate the challenges presented by COVID-19."
