Brits looking for luxury holidays on a budget may want to consider the likes of Bangkok, Brussels and Verona.

That's because the hotspots have been named some of the world's best cities for luxury without breaking the bank, in a new ranking.

The analysis looked at the most popular cities around the world and their average costs for luxury travel factors, including the costs of 5* hotels, spa hotels, Michelin star meals, and luxury car hire.

It concluded that the place where your money will go the furthest when you're holidaying in style is Bangkok, Thailand, reports the Mirror.

To spend a day and night there in a five-star hotel while riding around in a luxury car before dropping in for a Michelin star meal will set you back will cost you slightly over £400.

A Michelin star meal in Bankok would cost you just £121 meaning you can get real bang for your buck compared to the UK.

In second place is Brussels, Belgium. The city was considered affordable across the board, particularly when it came to the cost of a five-star hotel (£291) and luxury car hire (£121).

Brussels is the most affordable European destination among the cities ranked, known for its chocolate, beer, and museums.

The most affordable city for Michelin star dining is Athens, Greece. The average cost of a set menu in Athens is £83, the Money.co.uk analysis found.

While luxury car hire was cheapest in Thailand's Bangkok at just £48.

A spa hotel for the night was cheapest in Verona, Italy, costing just £164 per night.

Verona is best known for being the setting of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet – and the stunning old town will take you back in time with its beautiful architecture and Roman ampitheatre.

The most affordable destination when it comes to booking a spa hotel is Osaka, with an average nightly rate of just £143 per night.
