All Southwest Airlines Fares Are 50 Percent Off for Fall Travel

Although summer travel is just getting into full swing, it’s already prime time to start booking flights for fall 2021—at least, if you want the cheapest fares.

Today, Southwest Airlines launched a flight deal too good to pass up: All of the airline’s base fares for fall travel are 50 percent off, in celebration of the carrier’s 50th anniversary. The sale, which only lasts through June 17, is valid for travel from September 15 through November 3, 2021.

All destinations in Southwest’s network are eligible for the half-off promotion—that includes international destinations like Mexico and the Caribbean, in addition to far-flung domestic options like Hawaii. Routes from Texas to cities in Mexico, including Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta, Cancun, and Cozumel are going for less than $400. Roundtrips between California and the Hawaiian islands (Southwest flies to Oahu, Maui, Kauai, and the Big Island) were clocking in at less than $300. Other domestic flights, including between New York and Los Angeles, are priced as low as $168 roundtrip.

All Southwest Airlines flights come with two free checked bags, free drinks, and an open seating protocol in which every flier can choose their seat upon boarding. The airline has never charged change or cancellation fees, and changes are allowed up to 10 minutes before departure time.

While the sale lasts through June 17, the best deals are going fast. So if you have a trip in mind, you won’t want to linger. To book, visit Southwest’s sale page and use the promo code “SAVE50.” From there, you can search flights as you normally would. (The discounts are shown on the flight options via a strikethrough price and don’t apply to ticket taxes and fees.)
