Frontier launching four Caribbean routes from Tampa this summer: Travel Weekly

Frontier Airlines will launch four Caribbean routes from Tampa early this summer.

The discount carrier will operate daily, year-round, Tampa-San Juan service beginning June 23, competing against the daily service of Southwest, JetBlue and Spirit, Cirium flight schedule data shows.

Frontier will be first in market on the three other new routes, which will operate from Tampa to Montego Bay, Jamaica, and to Santo Domingo and Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.

The carrier’s seasonal, twice-weekly Montego Bay service begins June 24 and will run through Labor Day. Twice-weekly flights from Tampa to Santo Domingo will begin June 30. Weekly Saturday service to Punta Cana will launch July 2.

Frontier did not immediately respond Tuesday morning to a question about whether those last two routes will be seasonal or year-round. Tickets are now on sale for the San Juan and Montego Bay routes. The carrier said tickets for the Tampa-Santo Domingo and Tampa-Punta Cana routes will be on sale soon.
