Delta scales back China flights

Delta has joined United and American in scaling back flights
to China as the coronavirus reduces demand.

The airline currently operates 42 weekly flights to China from
Detroit, Seattle, Atlanta and Los Angeles. It will cut that number to
approximately 21 per week from Feb. 6 to April 30. Delta said that it will
continue operating to China from each of its gateways. The carrier operates
Shanghai flights from all four gateways and Beijing flights from Seattle and
Detroit.

United, which had already reduced mainland China and Hong
Kong flying during first week of February, has extended the reductions through
March 28. United typically flies 12 daily frequencies to China and Hong Kong
but will offer just four daily flights through March 28. Flights to China from
Chicago and Washington Dulles will be suspended entirely from Feb. 9 through
March 28.

American said on Jan. 29 that it will suspend mainline China
flights from Los Angeles from Feb. 9 through March 27.
