Having tried and tested these five InterContinental hotels and resorts for vegan luxury travel in Hong Kong and Vietnam, we are pleased to say that they all catered excellently for us as vegan guests. InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort

This is a luxury five star beach resort like no other, InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort overlooks a private bay on Son Tra Peninsula near Danang and is ‘A Place Where Myth Meets Luxury’, the multi award winning resort was designed by renowned architect Bill Bensley and he has used his imagination and creativity to deliver a simply stunning property that will amaze and astound you.

During the day we dined on the beach at Barefoot, we enjoyed a selection of Mediterranean and Arabic inspired dishes including this supremely tasty Fattoush salad and in the evening we experienced a vegan fine dining extravaganza at La Maison 1888 which is home to three Michelin starred Chef, Pierre Gagnaire, we were treated to course after course of beautiful plant based cuisine at what is considered by many to be the finest restaurant in Vietnam.

InterContinental Hanoi Westlake

Situated upon the largest lake in Hanoi, adjacent to the 800 year old Golden Lotus pagoda and just minutes from Hanoi and the Old Quarter, InterContinental Hanoi Westlake is a subtle blend of business hotel and leisure resort, select one of the over-water pavilions and enjoy evening cocktails in the perfectly named Sunset Bar to make your stay even more memorable.

Due to a late flight arrival we were unable to enjoy dinner at either Milan Restaurant or Saigon Restaurant but a quick look at the menu highlighted a number of vegetarian dishes that could easily be made vegan. Breakfast offered a selection of salads, nuts and fruits to choose from and the usual fresh juices, coffee and soya milk which was available for cereal, upon request they happily prepared a rice noodle dish with tofu and vegetables, also fried rice with mixed vegeatbles and tofu meaning there was more than enough for us to eat.

InterContinental Saigon

With an unrivalled city centre location and just a short walk from restaurants and bars, tourist attractions and offices, the award winning InterContinental Saigon is perfect for business and leisure travellers alike offering a selection of rooms and suites, 24 hour fitness centre with spa and 5 restaurants and bars to choose from.

Each evening the staff in the Club InterContinental lounge arranged vegan food for us and were extremely helpful, the vegan sushi was a particular favourite of ours, freshly prepared, it tasted even better than it looked. Breakfast at Market 39, the all day dining restaurant at InterContinental Saigon was an extravagant affair, everything was clearly labelled and there was plenty for us to sample from the multiple buffet stations with our favourite being the congee with condiments, upon request the chef also cooked a perfectly seasoned bowl of rice noodles with tofu.

InterContinental Hong Kong

From the moment you check in to InterContinental Hong Kong you are blessed with mesmerising views of Victoria Harbour and Hong Kong Island through the huge floor to ceiling windows, this unique view is also enjoyed from many of the rooms and suites, including the 7000 square foot Presidential Suite which is the largest in Hong Kong. Enjoy a glass of wine in the Lobby Lounge before dining at one of the signature restaurants including NOBU Hong Kong and two Michelin starred Yan Toh Heen.

The vegan food at InterContinental Hong Kong was fantastic with us enjoying everything from vegan canapes and freshly prepared king mushroom and avocado sandwiches in Club InterContinental to vegan fine dining experiences at both NOBU Hong Kong and Yan Toh Heen, both of these vegan tasting meals were delightful and it’s tough to choose a favourite dish, however, our selection of delicate dim sum was extra memorable not only due to the exquisite taste but the fact it was garnished with gold, yes you heard us correctly, garnished with gold, 100% genuine fine gold leaf!

InterContinental Grand Stanford

Offering breathtaking views of Victoria Harbour from many of the luxuriously apponted rooms and suites, InterContinental Grand Stanford offers the discerning traveller a great option when choosing to stay in Kowloon with impeccable service and multiple dining options, including one Michelin starred Hoi King Heen.

The highlight of our stay at InterContinental Grand Stanford was without a doubt the multi course vegan tasting menu at Hoi King Heen with celebrity Master Chef Leung Fai Hung preparing a vegan fine dining experience that we will remember for a very long time. We enjoyed dishes including ‘Hoi King Heen Appetisers’ and Cantonese classics like double-boiled soup with bamboo piths and mushroom but the star of the show was the award winning and interestingly named ‘Three Tastes of Tofu and Fortune Bag’ which was simply divine.
