Busch Gardens Tampa Bay Reveals Opening Date for Tigris Roller Coaster

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay announced it would officially open its new triple-launch steel roller coaster Tigris on Friday, April 19.

When it opens, Tigris will be Florida’s tallest launch coaster and the ninth coaster in the park’s collection. The ride will take passengers through an array of looping twists with forward and backward motions.

Tigris will also feature more than 1,800 feet of steel track, breath-taking drops, a 150-foot skyward surge and an inverted heartline roll, all while reaching top speeds of 60 miles per hour.

Over the last 60 years, we’ve made a LOT of history… & we’re not done yet. This spring, Tigris will debut as Florida’s tallest launch coaster. In 2020, Busch Gardens will be home to North America’s tallest hybrid, & the fastest, steepest hybrid coaster in the world. #2020Rising pic.twitter.com/MWfMQpEh9Q

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay has become a haven for roller coaster enthusiasts, with Tigris joining the likes of Cheetah Hunt (the park’s longest coaster), SheiKra (a 200-foot tall floorless dive coaster), Falcon’s Fury (a 335-foot freestanding drop tower), Montu, Kumba and Cobra’s Curse.

Annual Pass Members will have exclusive ride time on Tigris for the first two weekends in May before the ride opens to general guests.
