Dorado Beach refurbs Su Casa villa

Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, has completed the redesign of its five-bedroom Su Casa historical villa.

The property sits on 1,400 acres of the former Laurance Rockefeller estate on Puerto Rico’s Atlantic coast. The villa was the former estate of Clara Livingston, the 200th licensed female pilot and 11th female helicopter pilot in the world.

The 8,000-square-foot, two-story, 1920s Spanish-style hacienda features an open-concept floor plan with floor-to-ceiling windows. The villa includes a dining room, living room, game room, infinity pool, outdoor seating with a fireplace, a spa treatment room, a media room and the services of a butler/concierge.

The design firm Champalimaud included local artwork, antiques and custom pieces in the redesigned space.

“The revitalization of Su Casa shows the dedication of Dorado Beach to accommodate today’s luxury traveler,” said George Sotelo, the property’s general manager.

Rates for Su Casa begin at $12,000 per night.
