LATAM’s inaugural flight between Santiago and Brasilia
LATAM is the only airline to connect these two cities directly, reducing travel time by four hours to the capital of Brazil.
The new route is operated by Airbus A320 aircraft with capacity for 174 passengers.
With this flight and the new Santiago-Curitiba route that will operate from March 2020, LATAM Airlines Group offers a total of five direct routes between Chile and Brazil.
With the presence of special guests, LATAM Airlines Group began the operation of its direct flight between Santiago and Brasilia on 15 October 2019. The new route will be operated three days a week (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday) with an Airbus A320 aircraft, with capacity for 174 passengers in economy class.
“This new route reaffirms our commitment to offering the best network of destinations and flights in Latin America. These flights not only offer better connections to Brasilia, the political centre of Brazil, but guests can also connect more easily to the multitude of destinations in the north and northeast of Brazil,” said David Arcos, Commercial Director, LATAM Airlines Group.
Brasilia is the second largest base of operations for LATAM in Brazil, with connections to 33 other destinations, including Manaus, Fortaleza, Maceió, Recife and Salvador.
Located in the midwest of Brazil, Brasilia is the federal capital of the country. With a population of over 4 million in the metropolitan area, it is the third largest city in Brazil and was built specifically as the capital of the country during the 1950s. The city is considered a cultural centre with several attractions, such as the National Museum, the National Library and the Monumental Axis designed by the Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer.
With this flight and the new Santiago-Curitiba route that will operate from March 2020, LATAM Airlines Group offers a total of five direct routes between Chile and Brazil. This is an addition to its flights from Santiago to Porto Alegre, Rio de Janeiro and its hub from São Paulo where it offers connections to 30 destinations within Brazil and 26 international destinations in South America, United States, Europe, Asia and Africa. The airline currently transports 4,500 passengers daily between the two countries.
