Founded as a British colony in 1819, it has been a global centre of commerce & trade, and boasts the worlds busiest port. Singapore is a vibrant city with a skyline full of skyscrapers, many shopping malls, fantastic food vendors, and a wild night life scene.

Although one of the most densely populated countries in the world, Singapore boasts over 50% green coverage, which is remarkable given its population and size.

Well known the most Aussies & Kiwi’s as a stopover destination, Singapore has been a destination in its own right for decades. Sunny most of the time, Singapore is humid…..very humid. Just walking around can be tiring, but with so much to see and do, it just has to be done !

The centre of the city is in the south, and consists of the Orhard Rd shopping strip, the Riverside, the Marina Bay area, and the finance centre, Shenton Way. Different neighborhoods or districts such as Chinatown, Little India. North, South, Sentosa and Jurong, round out the main locations.

With dozens of things to do and see, advise your clients to check out the following:

1. Gardens by the Bay: a magnificent nature park of over 100 hectares in the centre of Singapore. Hard to describe, the park contains multiple domes housing plants, wildlife, and waterfalls. With over 1,000,000 plants, it cannot be missed

2. Orchard Rd: If you’re in the market for a watch, video camera, or luxury hand bag, then this is the place for you. A seemingly endless number of shops and stalls. A little touristy, but you can head to where the locals shop being Bugis, and Marina Bay. Take your credit card !

3. For some culture following the shopping, head to Little India & Chinatown. The Chinatown Heritage Centre gives a great overview of Chinese development. for something a little different, The Buddha Tooth Relic Temple (self explanatory) houses the holy relic that thousands flock to see each year.  Also, for more holy places, visit Sri Mariamman Hindu Temple, the Burmese Buddhist Temple, and the Masjid Sultan.

4. Back to more wildlife; The Singapore Zoo, Night Safari, Jurong Bird Park and the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, and some of the most amazing you will see. If your clients are travelling with kids, they will be in heaven. With so much to do, it will tire out the little ones in no time at all !
