Tahiti’s unspoilt gem celebrates first birthday
The newest resort in The Islands of Tahiti, Conrad Bora Bora Nui, celebrates its first birthday this month.
Located in a private cove on Motu To’opua, a small islet located off the coast of Bora Bora, the resort faces out toward the open ocean and offers a unique vista and experience to guests in Tahiti.
Completely refurbished after Conrad Hotels & Resorts took over management of the site, the resort is unrecognizable from its previous days and provides the most up to date accommodation for those seeking a true luxury experience, as well as the longest white sand beach in Bora Bora.
At over half a mile, its secluded beach is watched over by the soaring Mount Otemanu which becomes the backdrop to the hotel when approaching from the water. The stunning overwater bungalows look out upon the lagoon and an endless blue horizon, with the only unobstructed sunset views in Bora Bora, and waters teeming with wildlife not seen in the more sheltered waters of the interior lagoon.
To up the romance ante, the resort also has its own private island which is accessible exclusively to hotel guests. Motu Tapu is Conrad Bora Bora Nui’s own exclusive islet ideal for private picnic lunches, intimate beach weddings or romantic dinners, as well as large-scale events, and is just a five-minute boat ride from the resort.
The resort is also home to an active coral restoration initiative, allowing guests to take part in the preservations of the local marine habitat and fauna.
The island of Bora Bora is about 149 miles northwest of Tahiti, approximately a 45-minute flight, with Conrad Bora Bora Nui located on the southwest end of Motu To’opua, a small islet floating between the island’s mainland and its coral reef. The resort is approximately a 20-minute boat ride from Bora Bora Airport.
