Stuba drives momentum by adding new suppliers, improving pricing and cool new tech

roomsXML and getabed started the “Merger Season” of April 2018 by announcing the formation of “Stuba” with a promise of bigger, better, improved pricing and better capabilities.

Mark Luckey, MD Stuba Pacific said “Through merging the buying power of roomsXML and getabed we could renegotiate contracts and  improved “search to booking ratios” (agents finding the best price sooner ) through improved pricing on 75% of our inventory at 9000 destinations.

Stuba have kept the momentum rolling with a focus on the Mediterranean with four new suppliers simultaneously coming on board to cover Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece, Croatia, Cyprus, Malta, Turkey, Morocco and Egypt.

Anuj Bang, Product Development Director, says “This merger gives us a strong footprint in travel agent dominated markets like Australia, UK, East Europe, Middle East and India, allowing us deep insights into buying behaviours and search trends. All the global cues were pointing to a desire for good product in the Mediterranean belt, so we doubled our efforts in securing up connections with strong local contracting players in that region as well as directly connecting with certain chains and hotels, making Stuba the one-stop shop.”

During the merger process, Stuba have taken the opportunity to upgrade technology, with Luckey explaining “Some destinations have always been inefficient to find properties. We’ve initially focused on the Caribbean and Fiji to make it easier to hone in on the right hotel.”

Stuba’s unique search filter algorithms combine scores and social media narrative from thousands of sites, making it easier than ever to locate the best properties that meet the customers lifestyle desires.

Anuj Bang closes by adding “It’s a no-brainer where agents should hunt for great hotels for their customers next sun & beach holiday. Stuba has got it covered from Fiji to Caribbean and from Florida to Mediterranean.”
