Celebrity chef Matt Golinski to prepare Outback Festival’s Sunset Extravaganza Dinner

Highly regarded professional chef Matt Golinski will be coming to Winton to join the Outback Festival celebrations and prepare a three-course dinner for guests attending the 2019 Sunset Extravaganza charity dinner, an exclusive evening event dining under the stars in aid of the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

Held on Thursday 26th September, the Sunset Extravaganza Dinner black tie charity event is a private evening hosted in 2019 on the Winton Airport tarmac, where guests will enjoy live entertainment, a three-course dinner prepared by Matt Golinski and take part in a live charity auction in support of the festival’s nominated charity, the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

Well known as one of the original team members of the popular ‘Ready Steady Cook’ television show, Matt Golinski has worked as executive chef at some of Queensland’s leading restaurants. Based on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, Golinski now works as a consulting chef to various restaurants along the Queensland coast, as well as making appearances at festival and events.

“We are delighted to welcome Matt Golinski to Winton as our guest chef for the Sunset Extravaganza Dinner.” said festival organiser Robyn Stephens OAM. “Each festival this event is a fantastic opportunity for visitors to dress up and enjoy an evening under the stars in aid of a great cause. We expect this year to be no exception with Matt Golinksi at the helm to help us support the Royal Flying Doctor Service.”

Taking place on Thursday 26th September the Sunset Extravaganza Dinner costs $150 per person or $1400 for a table of ten, with tickets available via the Outback Festival website now.

In addition to canapés and a three-course dinner guests will enjoy a live performance by the 1RAR Military Band and be entertained by the MC for the evening, Australian musical entertainer, Waltzing Matilda Centre Patron and Outback Queensland Tourism Ambassador, Tania Kernaghan. Return coach transfers are included from Winton town central.

For a culinary experience of a different kind, celebrity Bush Cook Ranger Nick has teamed up with internationally acclaimed entertainer, musician, bushtucker man and Indigenous leader David Hudson to host FREE Bushtucker Camp Oven cooking demonstrations.

Working together in a one of a kind concept, David Hudson and Ranger Nick will be exchanging cultural skills, knowledge and heritage in a captivating and engaging performance. Ranger Nick and David Hudson will be demonstrating how to produce a cracker of a meal with whatever is in the tucker box. Incorporating their musical talents, wit, humour and bush poetry the duo appeal to young and old with their educational and entertaining display.

The Bushtucker Camp Oven demonstrations are FREE to all visitors and will take place on Elderslie street throughout Tuesday 24th and Wednesday 25th September in Elderslie street, Winton.
