Aitutaki Industry turns it on for Australian and New Zealand travel agents
Aitutaki’s Tamanu Beach Resort in association with Cook Islands Tourism and Aitutaki Tourism operators recently hosted Australian and New Zealand marketing and product managers to an amazing “Meet and Eat” event in beautiful Aitutaki.
Key industry players from Australia and New Zealand were treated to a delicious “12 Course progressive feast” with a dozen operators from Aitutaki each preparing their signature dishes. Agents weaved their own traditional “raurau” (plaited leaf plates) then engaged with each operator at their sampling table, tasting the famous Ika Mata (raw fish in coconut and lime juice) , Sashimi, Island Curries, Grilled fish, salads and a range of island fruits.
Tamanu Beach Resort General Manager, Nick Henry, said “Our industry really came together for this event to truly highlight all Aitutaki has to offer. This was the first time many of our operators met “one on one” with key decision-makers from Australia and New Zealand. We had small owner operated cafes, lagoon cruises, resorts and guest houses all sharing their hand-crafted meals, whilst showcasing their products and services”.
Agents also had the opportunity to visit Aitutaki properties and enjoy Aitutaki’s spectacular lagoon with a sunset fish BBQ at Honeymoon Island.
