World’s longest water slide to open this summer and it looks ridiculously fun

Thrill-seekers, get ready to add to that bucket list this summer as the world's longest water slide is set to open to the public!

The 3740ft-long slide is currently being built on the island of Penang, Malaysia.

Currently the world's longest water slide is in Action Park, New Jersey, at 1,975ft; so that means that the new contender will be 1,756 feet longer when finished.

In fact, the plan is to have Guinness World Records officials come to check out the slide in order for it to formally claim the title.

Featuring large blue and yellow tubes, the new slide will open at the ESCAPE theme park in Penang, with an opening date planned for August.

Now the theme park has offered a sneak peek of what adrenaline-seekers can expect from the impressive addition with a short video of the construction process.

It looks like it could be really fun with heaps of twists and turns along the slide, which is nestled into the dense green jungle landscape, so brave riders who can keep their eyes open can expect some great views of the area.

From start to finish, each ride will last about four minutes.

The park revealed that it has tried to build the slide while attempting to limit the impact on the environment, opting for manual construction instead of the use of heavy machinery.

It's not the only attraction on offer for guests.

There are plenty more thrilling water slides, lazy rivers and rapids to explore, not to mention the park is filled with heaps of gentler attractions for kids.
