Seabourn will sail Australia's Kimberley region for the first time

Seabourn will visit the Kimberley region in Western Australia for the first time in 2024.

The line will send the Seabourn Pursuit, the line’s second expedition ship, due out in September, to sail the region between June and August 2024.

The ship will sail six 10-day voyages between Broome and Darwin. The new itineraries include calls at the Indonesian island of Matakus with access to swimming and coral reef snorkeling in the Timor Sea, along with Talbot Bay, which is home to the Horizontal Waterfalls. The ship will also call at Montgomery Reef.

The sailing also includes opportunities to access Bungle Bungle rock formations, El Questro National Park, the Ord River and King George Falls. Guests have the option of a helicopter viewing of the Hunter River and the Kimberley while flying to the triple falls of Mitchell Plateau.

The Seabourn expedition team will lead Zodiac rides to the Horizontal Waterfalls and guided hikes to sandstone escarpments, gorges and primeval caves with rock art, according to the line.

Before and after cruising in Western Australia, the Pursuit will sail a series of 15-day voyages to Papua New Guinea and West Papua. The ship will sail there in May and June and again in August and September. The line is offering a combination of voyages for sailings of up to 35 days.

The Pursuit is the sister expedition ship of the Seabourn Venture, which debuted in July of 2022.
