Royal Caribbean International has received approval from the Bahamas government to move forward on the 17-acre Royal Beach Club at the western end of Paradise Island in Nassau. 

The Royal Beach Club at Paradise Island is expected to open in 2025. The project is a public-private partnership allowing Bahamians to own up to 49% equity in the club. Local businesses can manage a majority of the experience. 

While not a private island like Perfect Day at CocoCay, the property will offer guests a beach day and access to pools and private cabanas while in Nassau. At the beach club, guests will find local architecture, Bahamian fare including island-style barbecues, live music and local artisans.

Thirteen acres of land will be owned by the cruise line and four acres will be state-owned. Royal Caribbean said the agreement is the first of its kind in the Bahamas.

Royal Caribbean first voiced plans to develop a beach club in 2019, but the project stalled during the pandemic.
