Anticipation is building for P&O Cruises’ new ship Iona launching in 2020, and now the cruise line has revealed the glamorous winter itineraries which will be on offer.
From October 2020 through to March 2021, Iona will be visiting sun-soaked hotspots including Spain, Portugal, the Canary Islands and northern Europe.
Think a mix of seven and 14-night itineraries including day-into-night visits on shore, so passengers can really make the most of the destinations and the local nightlife.
There are some pretty tempting ports of call for Spain, Portugal and the Canary Islands including the likes of Cadiz, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Lisbon, Madeira, Tenerife, Alicante, Barcelona, Gibraltar, Malaga, Valencia and Vigo.
Meanwhile cities such as Rotterdam (for Amsterdam), Zeebrugge (for Bruges), and Hamburg will also be on offer.
The choice of shore excursions is just as impressive, with heaps of variety whether you want to go waterfall canyoning in Madeira, watch the sunset from the top of Tenerife’s Mount Teide, try rafting in Vigo, take a tuk tuk tour of Lisbon, enjoy canal cruises in Amsterdam, and even follow in the footsteps of the Beatles in Hamburg.
Unfortunately you’re going to have to wait a little longer as Iona’s winter itineraries won’t be on sale until Monday 18th March 2019, with pre-registration opening a week earlier on Monday 11th March, from 8am.
In the meantime, you can find more itineraries on the P&O Cruises website , or if you’re looking for some last minute sailings for 2019 you may want to check out the discounted packages on Mirror Cruise .
P&O Cruises president, Paul Ludlow, said: "P&O Cruises is promising to deliver opportunities for guests to discover hidden secrets in these wonderful ports.
"We’ve used insider knowledge to develop shore visits and adventures that will be off the beaten track and give once-in-a-lifetime local experiences.
"By scheduling late departures for Iona from ports our guests will be able to make the most of days and evenings on shore, with an enviable selection of experiences that will showcase the very best of hidden Spain, Portugal and the Canary Islands and northern European cities."
