Hurtigruten adds more Arctic cruises for 2023: Travel Weekly

Hurtigruten Expeditions is adding the Maud to the Arctic region for the summer of 2023, making way for seven new itineraries.

The Maud will sail 11- to 20-day itineraries between June and September of 2023. Sailings will depart from Dover, England, or Reykjavik, Iceland, and take guests to Greenland, Svalbard, the British Isles, the Faroe Islands and Iceland.

The addition of the 500-passenger Maud now gives the expedition line five ships cruising the Arctic.

The Maud will cruise two 17-day round-trip voyages out of Reykjavik that sail to the east coast of Greenland, the Svalbard archipelago and the Arctic volcanic island of Jan Mayen.

Another sailing called the Greenland Summer Explorer will stretch 20 days with a flexible itinerary to see icebergs, fjords, wildlife and communities along Greenland’s west coast, including north of Disko Bay.

The ship will also sail two 11-day Iceland circumnavigations that sail out of Reykjavik and focus on sights in Iceland. This sailing crosses the Arctic circle.

The Maud will begin and end the season with a 12-day island-hopping cruise in the North Atlantic. The sailing will include time in Iceland, the Faroe Islands, Shetland Islands, Orkney Islands and the British Isle. Because this itinerary will kick off and conclude the Maud’s 2023 summer season, it will either depart or conclude in Dover.
