Princess Cruises Sky Princess is set to embark on a European adventure from the UK for the first time next year. The 1,830-room ship was previously home-ported in the US but this is set to change in 2021.

Sky Princess will make its debut from Southampton next summer.

It will spend the summer months sailing the British Isles and the Baltic, with 12-day itineraries on offer from the UK port.

Full itineraries are still being planned by the cruise line, and no official dates have been released yet.

However, Princess Cruises has stated that tickets for the sailings are due to go on sale later this month.

Princess Cruises’ UK and Europe vice-president Tony Roberts said: “It is fantastic to have our newest ship sailing from the UK.”

As part of the new season, the ship will also be taking on ten of the routes previously sailed by sister ship the Crown Princess.

Due to this, some sailings have been cancelled.

Customers who were booked on impacted sailings will be contacted by the cruise operator to discuss the changes.

Despite the latest announcement, Princess Cruises operations remain on pause amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The cruise line, owned by Carnival Corporation, suspended all operations initially on March 12.

It later extended cancellations in June.

Princess Cruises suggests, most cruises, plus Alaskan cruise, tours will restart from December 15.

Australia and New Zealand cruises are planned to restart December 12.

Once sailings restart, UK cruisers will have the opportunity to step onboard the Sky Princess, which made its inaugural journey in 2019.

The ship boasts 46 suites – the most out of any of the line’s fleet.

Sky Princess is also home to two standalone suites, dubbed Sky Suites.

They measure 1,800 square feet, including giant wraparound balconies boasting impressive views of the surrounding scenery.

There are also seven alternative cabins types for guests to choose from Interior, Premium Oceanview, Balcony, Deluxe Balcony, Mini-Suite, Club Class and Suite.

The ship is also home to a number of restaurants and eateries offering an array of global cuisines.

Other highlights include three swimming pools, a show lounge, theatre, Las Vegas-style casino and an array of onboard shops.
