Cruise: A unique wellness experience – sneak first look inside Celebrity Apex

Celebrity Cruises is set to launch its newest cruise ship in March. The Celebrity Apex will be the first ship to launch in the UK in over a decade and is predicted to take cruises to “another new level” with thanks to an array of state-of-the-art features and a focus on passenger wellness.

  • Best and worst cruise lines revealed

The cruise line has already revealed specialist features including a floating deck dubbed “the magic carpet” and massive two-storey high martini glass hot tubs, however, a new first-look has revealed some additional features that could elevate the cruising experience.

One of the key focusses of the Apex is passenger relaxation and wellness, covering everything from fitness and spa treatments to quality dining and entertainment.

Passengers who want to feel their best while at sea can benefit from F45 Training.

This will be the first time the exercise phenomenon has ever taken to the seas.

The 45-minute, station-based, high-intensity training workouts will be guided by trained instructors and available in the ship’s onboard Fitness Centre.

Meanwhile, passengers who want a less intense form of wellness may turn to the ship’s spa, which will offer more than 120 soothing treatments and a unique infrared treatment sauna treatment, the Japanese Iyashi Dôme, which promises to cleanse and detoxify the body.

Other wellness options will be tailored based upon the cruise’s specific itinerary, using locally inspired spa menus using ingredients sourced from the countries the ship visits.

Guests can also expect an array of mouthwatering delicacies to dine on.

Celebrity Apex will boast menus crafted by Michellin star chef Cornelius Gallagher.

One of the ships most unique dining experience takes passengers three-storeys high into a natural indoor wonderland named Eden.

Guests can eat while taking in sweeping panoramic views of the outside landscape, enjoying dishes made with ingredients sourced from local farms and fisheries in the lower-level restaurant.

A sampling of new menu items includes fresh roasted Spanish prawns with melted peppers; cured fresh chorizo; slow-cooked shellfish broth with parsley, garlic, shallots and Maldon sea salt from England; pastrami with Devonshire Dijon mustard emulsion, mashed potatoes cooked in duck fat; and crispy rye bread sautéed in butter and melted raclette cheese.

  • The top 10 ‘alternative’ must-see landmarks

State-of-the-art features will transform the fining experience at Le Grand Bistro, a restaurant where guests are guided nu a digitally animated menu.

A fusion of entertainment and dining, the menu offers such dishes as spring pea soup, King Crab farfalle pasta and filet mignon, while diners enjoy a story that chronicles the life adventures of Le Petit Chef.

Other entertainment offerings include three state shows in The Theatre, an intimate cabaret show in The Club and a series of technological activities throughout.

The most eye-catching of these features comes in the form of a 20-foot tall Tree of Life, complete with over 3,000 LED leaves, to set the stage for one of the most dramatic new productions at sea.

Passengers who hope to be one of the first to sail onboard the ocean marvel are in luck, with Celebrity Cruises currently welcoming passengers to enjoy up to £200 off select itineraries.

The deal boasts savings of up to £200 off staterooms on all European sailings throughout 2020.

However, cruise hopefuls must act with haste if they want to make the most of this saving.

The deal will only run until March 3, after which point prices are expected to increase.
