Victoria’s Secret model ‘wanted to rip skin off’ after bed bug attack

A VICTORIA’S Secret model has told how she “literally wanted to rip her skin off” after she was ravaged by bedbugs at a hotel in Southern California.

Brazilian model Sabrina Jales St Pierre is suing the Palm Desert Embassy Suites by Hilton after her stay in 2016 caused bed bug bites so bad she couldn’t work for months.

The model, who has worked for Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren and Valentino, is suing the hotel for undisclosed monetary and punitive damages.

“I literally wanted to rip my skin off,” Jales St Pierre told NBC.

“The first morning, when I woke up, I noticed a couple of bites on my arm, but I didn’t think anything of it. And then, the second morning is when I noticed all the bites, and that’s when it got worse.”

Jales St Pierre said she was bitten about 90 times, which caused her to be out of work for two months.

Her lawyer, Brian Virag, said the model got “absolutely massacred”.

Jales St Pierre’s complaints come after a high profile former police officer claimed he was also bitten by bed bugs at the Palm Springs hotel.

Former police sergeant Gary Bruce, who was in one of the lead cars during the famous OJ Simpson “white Bronco chase” in 1994, said he was bitten during a stay in June and is also suing the hotel.

“There’s no doubt in my mind it was definitely bed bugs,” he said.

In a statement, Embassy Suites said it inspected both rooms in each incident and had them checked by an external pest company, but found no evidence of any pests, including bed bugs.

“We did all the proper protocols and found no evidence,” manager Carlos Mendoza said. “Now we have to go through the lawsuit to defend the reputation of the hotel.”

Previously, Jales St Pierre’s lawyer said she had nightmares about the experience.

“Like most victims of bed bugs, Sabrina also had nightmares about the experience, and she still experiences psychological trauma and fear of bed bugs today,” Mr Virag told the Desert Sun in June.

“This was especially traumatic for Sabrina because her body is her work, so this severely affected her work and her career.”

A pair of London pest controllers got a shock on November 13 when tackling an infestation of bed bugs which had broken out in a building consisting of 135 apartments across six floors. This video was shot by Mark Porter of Porter’s Pest Control who was being helped by Peter Bowers-Davis of Integrum Services. According to Peter, the pair had tracked the bed bug problem to a room which had been infested for six years. The problem was so bad that the bugs had also taken hold in parts of the walls and plug sockets. “Last night they were sleeping in this bed,” Peter said, before revealing that the entirety of the mattress was covered in bed bugs visibly moving around. “This is an eye-opener really that if you really do leave things untreated how out of control it can become”, Mark said. They controllers said that about 20 percent of the building was infested. Credit: via Storyful
