Strap in guys. It’s not just snakes that go missing on a plane.
Passengers on board a trans-Atlantic flight have reportedly been forced onto their hands and knees in search of three cats who decided to bust out of their bags and go rogue in economy.
Now, while there’s currently no pictures or video to prove the events yet, this is what we know so far.
According to a Twitter thread by US journalist Jeffrey Cook, a friend sent an alert that three felines had decided to sneak out of their carry bags and cause a cat-astrophe at 38,000 feet.
“Apparently they’ve been missing for at least an hour,” Mr Cook wrote in a live blow-by-blow series of tweets, which have since gone viral.
Moments later, Mr Cook informed the Twitter-sphere that one cat was found hiding out in a bag.
“Whose bag, not sure. But it was in a bag,” he wrote.

Moments later, whispers quickly turned to fact. One of the three cats never actually went missing.
But let’s not get distracted by detail.
With one hour left of the flight, the hunt was all but over. One cat remained unaccounted for, and passengers had all of 60 minutes left to find the feline.
“I am on my stomach searching for this cat,” Mr Cook’s friend on board the flight wrote in a panicked message.
“Wheels down. Cat still MIA.”
The beauty of Twitter is you can drop a bomb for the world to read and just switch off, which is exactly what Mr Cook did.
“This is probably where we’re forced to leave it tonight, friends,” he wrote before throwing us a final bit of bait.
“The woman [presumably the owner] sat on the plane. Screaming. Where is my baby?!?”
A friend just texted me from a trans-Atlantic flight saying folks are on their hands and knees looking for not one, but THREE missing cats on-board.
Just thought everyone on this website would enjoy that
Now, we have all lost something of value on board a long-haul flight once or twice before. But it seems that four-legged passengers go MIA more than you might think.
One woman claimed her cat decided to see what economy had on offer during a flight between Germany and Baltimore, causing havoc “in the wee hours of the morning”.
“This grouchy little monster escaped on a flight halfway between Germany and Baltimore in the wee hours of the morning while everyone was asleep,” she wrote of her experience.
“It took 3 flight attendants, 2 Marines, and me about 10 minutes to round him up and he woke up every child on that flight out of spite.”
