Here’s What It's Like to Wander Through the Largest Maze in the World (Video)

If you’re in search of the ultimate outdoor puzzle, consider taking a scenic walk through the world’s largest maze.

China’s sprawling Yancheng Dafeng Dream Maze, which is located in the city of Yancheng, stands as the world’s largest permanent maze. The colorful attraction, which has a total size of 383,160.12 square feet, also broke the Guinness World Record for the world’s largest pathway network in a hedge maze in the summer of 2018. Its longest path stretches a whopping 5.87 miles.

The maze incorporates several designs into its paths, including the main area that is shaped in the form of an elk. The “elk” sits surrounded by thousands of shrubs to make it appear as though it’s wandering through the forest.

There are also smaller circular mazes, heart-shaped designs, and mazes with glass components to walk through.

Visitors can admire the design from a 65-foot-high viewing platform that sits over the maze. Its interiors include bridges, statues, and seats throughout. The maze is so huge, it also has 10 different rest areas to ensure adventurers can take a break when wandering through the giant obstacle course.

The maze is located within the Dream Maze scenic area, an attraction that also includes a flower garden, archery fields, and trampoline courses.

Tickets start at 45 Chinese Yuan (about $7) for a sightseeing ticket, which gives access to the maze and flower field, and at 150 Chinese Yuan (about $22) for a package ticket, which includes access to the Dream Maze scenic area and accompanying activities like trampoline courses, archery, and go-karts.

Besides being able to visit the record-breaking maze, visitors heading to China will also soon be able to make a stop into the world’s biggest indoor ski resort.
