Indian budget airlines IndiGo and SpiceJet have rescheduled most of their flights to Dubai to the Dubai World Central (DWC) Al Maktoum International airport from April 16 till May 30, due to the runway closure at Dubai International Airport (DXB).
IndiGo said all its flights to Dubai will operate to DWC, with no changes in existing timetable schedules.
“There will be no change in the frequency of our flights to Dubai from any of the Indian cities,” an IndiGo spokesperson told Arabian Business.
SpiceJet said its flights from Delhi, Kochi, Madurai and Pune will operate to DWC, while its flights from Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Kozhikode, Mangalore, Amritsar and Jaipur will continue to operate to DXB, an airline executive told Arabian Business.
“There could be a 10-15 minute variation in flight timings from some of the Indian cities,” the airline executive said.
State-owned Air India said three of its flights to Dubai will be diverted to Sharjah and the rest of the flights will continue to operate to DXB during the runway closure period.
“Our Mumbai-Dubai, Chennai-Dubai and Hyderabad-Dubai flight will operate to Sharjah during this period,” an Air India spokesperson said.
