Disney Releases Guidemap for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Park

The anticipation has been building, and the countdown has finally crossed over into the single digits. It’s almost time for guests to immerse themselves in Disneyland’s newest and largest themed area – Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

We’ve seen the aerial images leaked for their counterpart at Walt Disney World, tried to get as many quick glimpses as we could by riding Disney California Adventure Park’s tallest ride Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission BREAKOUT!, and followed along as Disney has slowly fed into our Star Wars mania with their special celebrations and panels.

Now Disneyland has finally given us the biggest advantage yet – a map of the park.

If you’re an avid Disney fan like me and open the Disneyland app even when you’re not in the parks, you may have had a special surprise today – the Star Wars: Galaxy Edge land has populated on the map. Located in the back left corner is the 14-acre newest addition to Disneyland.

The highly immersive themed land shows visitors exactly where each element of the new region will be – perfect for those planners, or those who just want to build their excitement even more.

Although the interactive guide map through the Disneyland app is able to bring the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge land to life, not all functions are currently working. Obviously, standby ride times moot, but the dining options/menus are also lacking. Not to fear, the Merchant & Food Guide provided by Disneyland will give you the summary for each outpost and menus can be found on Disneyland’s website.

The park will have three main entrances – one from Fantasyland, one from Frontierland and one from Critter Country. Just remember – for the first month of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge premier, you won’t be able to just walk into this section of the park. Guests will either need to be staying at a Disneyland hotel between May 31 and June 23 where they will receive their special designated reservation into the area. For those not staying at a Disneyland hotel, a regular admission ticket and no-cost reservation are required.

‘This is a new day, a new beginning’, showing just how much the Disney Imagineers can do and bringing all Star Wars fans home.
