Disney Cruise Line is set to expand its fleet with three new ships, and the company has delighted fans by offering a sneak peek of what the vessels will look like.
The cruise line unveiled an artist’s impression of the design for the sleek additions, which include bright red funnels painted with Mickey Mouse prints in tribute to the iconic mouse.
Meanwhile the ships’ bows will be painted in black with ornate gold features.
The three ships, whose names have yet to be revealed, are set to sail in 2021, 2022 and 2023.
Each of the new ships will have a gross tonnage of approximately 140,000, and are currently planned to be able to host around 1,250 guest staterooms.
Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger unveiled the new designs at The Walt Disney Company ’s annual shareholders meeting in January – one of the few details the company has revealed about the new additions.
Although Disney has remained relatively tight-lipped about what’s in store for passengers, the company has promised that the new ships will offer "more innovation, new technologies, spectacular entertainment and more Disney stories and characters than ever before".
The Disney fleet currently comprises of four ships; Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy.
You can expect plenty of fun with Mickey and his friends on board from dazzling shows, themed dining experiences and of course those all-important Character Meet n Greets.
Then there are extra perks such as the swish cabins and on-board water parks sure to be a hit with families.
The Disney cruises depart from ports in the USA (predominantly Florida, New York, California and Texas) with itineraries to the likes of the Caribbean, Bahamas and other sun-soaked destinations.
However, from August 2019 there will also be a host of sailings on offer from Dover, England.
